In 2000 Michael Vann was commissioned to make two bows for the Royal House of Denmark.

These bows where commissioned  by the European Foundation for Culture under the patronage of H.R.H  Prince Henrik of Denmark and awarded as prizes at the Palace in  Copenhagen. Mounted with Canadian Bison horn frogs and rose gold trim including gold images of the Danish Crown inset in both sides of each  frog.

Sixteen year old German born Lena Neudauer won the Augsburg International Competition for Young  Musicians while she was only 15. She received the Crossair prize for achievement and received a Royal bow which came in a black walnut presentation case. Ms Neudauer was a student at the at the conservatory of Salzburg.

Nikolaj Znaider is from Denmark and won the top European Soloist Prize known as the ABA prize.

 

He is shown here with his bow, receiving a certificate from Pro Europa president Dr. Walter Von Wartburg. Mr. Znaider has embarked on an international career and made his New York debut in 2000.

 

 

Bournemouth Symphony violinist Jack Maguire wrote:

"We watched Nicolai Zneider tonight in the Sibelius, mesmerized by the Vann horn frog going up and down. Is it haunted?"
