Cello is the style of Dom. Montagnana This  fine hand-made cello dates from the turn of the 20th century. The back has relief carving after a cello by Dominico Montagnana. Full responsive sound and volume. This instrument measures 29.5 inches in body length and in is a good state of repair. Sold with a hard case. $14.500 in Canadian funds

Labeled J. H. Meisel, Klingenthal, 1998, made in Germany.

Nicely flamed maple two-piece maple back, spruce top of select European origin.

Jargar strings. Set up in our shop.

Ideal student instrument. $1,950.


A violin by Joseph Albani, Bolzano, Italy, 1717. Certificate W. E. Hill & Sons. An exceptionally well preserved violin of wonderful tone and strength of sound. $29,000.

Albertus Bianchi, Nice, France 1908. This instrument has been restored. Wonderful tone. $14,000

Carl Schonger, Worked at Erfurt, Saxony. Member of violin making family. His work is in the Italian style. Labeled and dated 1832. Good tone. $4,900


Jacob Lomax, made in Bolton,(Lancashire), England, 1906. Mint condition. Powerful tone. $4,400.

A fine new violin by contemporary luthier Paul Federer of Waterloo, Ont. $4,600. These instruments have a very sweet yet powerful tone. Fine craftsmanship.

B. Zumbuhl, a fine example of this Swiss violin maker's work. $4,600.    SOLD


Walter Hamma 7/8th size violin. Completely rebuilt in our shop. Nicely flamed back, ribs and scroll. Medium grained table. Labeled "Hamma & Co. Stuttgart, No. 124, and dated 1954. $3,200.

A 15 inch English Viola With A Huge Soul

This instrument of English origin measures only 15 inches (381 mm) but because of its 43 mm high ribs gives the volume of much larger viola. The overall condition is classed as "mint". We believe this viola to be from turn of the century. Ideal for violist who is looking for a comfortable size yet produce a large warm sound.

Rene Cune Viola. A fine French instrument in mint condition. Made in Mirecourt, 1940. 16 inch. $9,500. Powerful tone.       

An Northern Italian hand made 16 inch viola, late 1800's in very fine state of preservation. It has a one-piece maple back of light texture. Golden brown varnish. $5,800.

 

A very fine hand-made viola, 16 inch, Southern Germany, turn of the century and very likely from the Mittenwald region. Superb condition and tone. $4,800.
